Ninh Binh, often called Ha Long Bay on land with it's huge towering limestone cliffs, lush green rice paddies, and peaceful boat rides through the caves. Just 2 hours from Hanoi, it's an absolute must-visit.
This boutique eco homestay was one of our favorite stays: surrounded by nature, balconies perfect for morning coffee, and that calm vibe where you end up taking it slow after a packed itinerary. There's still plenty to do in the area with the iconic Hang Mua hike for epic views, cycling through the local villages, boat tours in Trang An/Tam Coc and some of the largest pagoda complexes in Vietnam.
