Maeklong Railway Market Day Tour from Bangkok
Active train tracks run through Maeklong Railway Market near Bangkok, with shops that pack up as the train passes, plus the day tour we used from the city.
Maeklong Railway Market is one of those Thailand stops that still surprises us. Shops sit right on live tracks, and when sellers start packing up and pulling the rain covers, the train is about to come through.
Between passes you can wander souvenirs, produce, smoothie stalls, and little spots serving Thai food. If the train is parked for a minute, people even hop up for photos before it rolls on again.
We visited on a day tour from Bangkok that also works well as a combo with the floating markets, which is the option we personally used and still recommend if you want it handled in one trip.
