Hanoi to Sapa Overnight Train Tips

The overnight train from Hanoi to Lao Cai is our favorite way to get to Sapa. It takes about 6-7 hours, so you arrive ready for the day without wasting daylight on transport.

Once you get to Lao Cai station, book a Grab for the 45 minute ride into Sapa town. The drivers waiting outside usually charge more than the fixed app rates, so we always stick with the one we pre-booked.
